Pointe Saint-Mathieu – Brittany, France

The westernmost point of continental France is Cape Saint-Mathieu in Brittany.

This cape is one of the most dramatic places I have ever visited. So full on history, sensational sunsets, piercing winds, cliffs on Atlantic shores of the Bay of Brest. In the face of all this you suddenly feel so small and weak.

Some start to think here about their part and role in the history. Too depressing for me. Instead of this I tried to absorb the overwhelming beauty of this place. And suddenly I realized that cold indifferent colors of Saint-Mathieu are in their own way dense, effuse, deep and even warming.
