“In a painting you can always see if there is a mystery or not”. This is what paintings by Alexander Kedrin are all about to me. The mystery.
Bright colors on black prime, glitter, holographic effects, golden strings, buttons, Biblical topics, Arabic scripts. This all I found at the exhibition of works by Alexander Kedrin in the ArtStory gallery in Moscow.
Alexander Kedrin is born 1940 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. His father, a painter, taught him to love and understand the art, paintings and poetry. However, Alexander Kedrin walked aways from the romanticism in fine art his father adored so much, and found his own way – the way of Uzbek ornaments. Alexander Kedrin’s paintings are all about ornaments.
